Style a teenage boy’s room

I got sick of looking at my son’s tired aged bedroom. My son is at that age where he no longer has or wants toys in his bedroom and his world is all about computer games (and probably girls). But at least I know where he is right?

The lack of toys in his room were starting to make him look like the forgotten child. And I thought a revamp might also improve the smell in there. Why are boys rooms always smelly?

When asking him how he wanted his bedroom to look he answered with the typical teenage “I don’t care mum”. Then after some more prompting he said he wanted it to look “skatey” if anything.  I had no idea how to do “skatey”. The only thing that I could think of other than a skateboard was graffiti? So I did what I could, as cheaply as I could and I love the results. I think he does too.

The charcoal grey, blue and black give the room a nice masculine feel I think. I didn’t want the graffiti to make the room look trashy so I put them in some nice frames. I found two nice photos that he had taken of some authorised graffiti art walls during in his trip to Melbourne. We borrowed a third from the internet until his next trip. I think it’s a nice reminder of his boys weekend away to the PAX gaming convention with his dad.

I'd love to hear your thoughts...... :)
